Nathan builds cabinets and goes on a field trip

This post basically chronicles Nathan's weekend activities.

My sisters have warned me incessantly to stop writing blog posts about him, but I just can't resist.  So stop reading right now if you're over my stalker-esque accounts of his construction skills.

Nathan's building cabinets for our neighbor Daniel.  They're still in the beginning stages:

Here's the left side of the cabinets.  The part on the far right in the shot will be where the sink goes.  They turn the corner on the left and run straight into an incredible chef's stove that Daniel bought.

Now onto the right side... there's the sink cabinet again on the left, followed by a space for a dishwasher drawer (so jealous!) and then a cabinet that will include roll-out shelves.  At least that's the way Nathan explained it to me...

And here's his ingenious plans:

To give Nathan a break from all of his hard work in the shop, I decided to take him on a field trip to one of his favorite spots-- a contruction site.
Shockingly, Nathan refused to have his picture taken next to the "Danger: Keep Out" sign.  No.  Fun.

He's been obsessed with all of the dirt moving going on now at City Park.  I've seen my life flash in front of my eyes several times as we've driven by with him swerving and rubber-necking in order to get a glimpse of the giant piles of dirt and earth moving machines.  Yep, he loves that stuff.  As we walked around, he even commented that he was having a "sensory overload."   I'm thinking, really?  Dirt does that to you?

Strange, I know.
